Printed circuit boards, computer chips (CPU), and connections / fingers are all made of gold.  Printed circuit boards, computer chips, keyboard membranes, and some capacitors are all made of silver. Hard drives and circuit board components are made of platinum.  Palladium is used in the manufacture of hard drives and circuit board components (capacitors).  CPU heat sinks, wiring and cables, Printed Circuit Boards, and Computer Chips are all made of copper.  Components of circuit boards made of nickel. Components of circuit boards (some capacitors) are made of tantalum. Hard drives contain neodymium (magnets) and cobalt. Printed circuit boards, computer chips, hard drives, and CPU heat sinks are all made of aluminum. Printed Circuit Boards and Computer Chips are made of tin. Printed circuit boards contain zinc.

Almost all electronics contain lead and tin (in the form of solder) and copper (in the form of wire and printed circuit board tracks), though lead-free solder is becoming more popular.

Motherboards, connector cards, graphic cards, memory cards, CPUs, and other small electronic components, connectors/cables, and hard drives are examples of computer components that contain valuable metals.

By weight, computer CPUs (processors) are the most valuable metals, followed by Memory (RAM) and Circuit Board Fingers / Connectors / Pins, Circuit Boards (Motherboards), cables / wires, and finally hard drives and entire computers.

Typical CD/DVD drives, monitors, casings, keyboards/mouse, printers, scanners, and power supplies do not contain enough precious metal to be considered valuable.
